Cindy MartinI have been in the grooming business since 2001. I have attended an academy of grooming. I was taught by one of the best instructors with at least 15 years of experience. I continued my instruction from a friend who has been grooming for 8 years. I am certified as a professional bather.

I have attended dog behavior and temperament courses, and have taken dog obedience training classes on my own. I have also taken an online first aid class for dogs and cats. I plan to continue my education on all aspects of grooming and dog handling, and am constantly studying the styles and technique of grooming.

I have had a dream to work with dogs in some way all my life. When I was a little girl
I would pretend that I was a dog or animal trainer. I would walk down the street and have my pretend dog at my side.

As I grew I knew that I wanted a dog, though I would not get one until I had the right place and time. I believe something you want will come to you when the time is right. I decided that I wanted to rescue. I went to a local rescue to just look, I was just about to leave; I came across two cock-a-poos; brother and sister. They were scared to death and hiding. A couple adopted the brother out of the next kennel, the female flew out of hiding, and she knew right away he was leaving. She was devastated and you could see that in her matted eyes. I knew then she had a heart and I had to have her right away. She was a mess, matted from head to toe. Took her home and had to have her groomed. I took her to a grooming
place and the lady scolded me. Even though I told her that she was a rescue. She scolded me every time I went in. That is when I decided I wanted to be a groomer. Somehow I was going to learn. I did my research. So I went from nurserywoman to groomer.

My motto is if there is something that you don't like please tell me right away.

The Doghouse asked me if I would like to open a Salon in their building. So I decided to go on my own to start my own business.
